Loop8: Summer of Gods is a role-playing game from Marvelous (XSEED), released for Nintendo Switch on June 6, 2023. It follows Nini, a transfer student who arrives in the Japanese town of Ashihara Nakatsu during an August that continually repeats.

Beneath the town's quiet daily routines lies a threat from the Kegai, destructive entities capable of possessing residents. Nini must form connections, uncover clues across successive loops, and work to stop the danger before it destroys the world.

A Summer That Repeats

Each return to August offers another chance to explore Ashihara Nakatsu, learn more about its people, and approach its mysteries differently. The narrative centers on friendship, destiny, and the consequences of decisions, with choices affecting relationships, revelations, and possible outcomes.

Daily Life and Relationships

School, conversations, and everyday activities are central to the experience. Building bonds with residents is more than a social element: character connections and emotions influence allies' capabilities, making time spent getting to know people important when confronting the Kegai.

Turn-Based Encounters

Battles use a turn-based system that emphasizes planning and the strengths of the group. Characters bring their own abilities, while their emotional state and relationship with Nini can affect their effectiveness in combat. The repeating structure supports trying new dialogue choices, social priorities, and approaches in later loops.
