Omen of Sorrow is an action fighting game for Nintendo Switch, released on March 23, 2023. It presents arcade-style 2D battles within a dark gothic setting populated by supernatural combatants.

A curse known as the Omen of Sorrow distorts the world and awakens long-dormant horrors. Vampires, werewolves, Frankenstein’s monster and other tragic figures become involved in a conflict shaped by ancient secrets, shifting alliances and the search for the blight’s origin.

Dark fantasy combatants

The roster draws on familiar horror archetypes, reimagining them as fighters with individual motivations and distinct approaches to battle. Their stories connect to the wider struggle against the curse, which forces each character to face both dangerous opponents and personal turmoil.

2D fighting mechanics

Matches emphasize timing, precision and character-specific toolkits. Fighters can use combos, special moves, supers and finishing attacks, while responsive movement supports fast-paced confrontations. Each combatant offers a different style to learn and develop.

Fortune and Despair

Fortune and Despair add a strategic resource-management element to fights. Fortune can be built for stronger attacks, while Despair provides devastating comeback options. Choosing when to spend these gauges can influence the momentum of a round.

Modes and arenas

Story, Arcade and Survival modes offer different ways to engage with the game, alongside local versus and online battles. Gothic-themed arenas provide the backdrop for its monster-filled clashes.
