OMORI is a Nintendo Switch psychological RPG from OMOCAT, released on June 17, 2022. It follows the reclusive Sunny and Omori, his counterpart within a colorful dream realm called Headspace.

The adventure moves between Headspace’s strange summer escapades and the grounded atmosphere of Faraway Town. As Sunny’s past gradually comes into focus, the story explores grief, guilt, memory, friendship, and isolation.

Two Intertwined Worlds

In Headspace, Omori travels with Aubrey, Kel, and Hero, meeting unusual characters, confronting fantastical creatures, and working through puzzles. The cheerful setting carries an underlying unease, while Faraway Town reveals more of Sunny’s withdrawn life after a tragedy involving his older sister, Mari. The connection between these realities forms the heart of the narrative.

Turn-Based Battles and Emotions

Combat uses a traditional turn-based structure built around the party’s individual abilities. Its central strategic element is the Emotion system: characters and enemies may become Happy, Sad, or Angry, changing their strengths and weaknesses in a circular advantage system. Follow-Up attacks add further options when coordinating the group.

Both worlds offer places to investigate, characters to speak with, puzzles to solve, and optional paths to uncover. Hidden areas, collectibles, side quests, and additional events reward careful exploration while expanding the journey through OMORI’s distinctive settings.
