Survival Before Adventure

Survival is central to every expedition. Hunger, thirst, fatigue, sleep, and temperature must be managed alongside environmental dangers. Maps and landmarks are important for navigation, while supplies, crafting materials, food, water, and shelter can determine whether a trip succeeds. Defeat does not simply end the journey; it can result in unexpected situations such as being rescued, captured, or left elsewhere in the world.

Deliberate Combat and Magic

Combat favors preparation, positioning, and timing over simple encounters. Backpacks carry valuable resources but can affect movement and readiness in battle, making inventory decisions meaningful. Magic also demands more than a single button press, with spells involving specific components and rituals.
