Remnant: From the Ashes arrives on Nintendo Switch as a dark action adventure set after the collapse of civilization. The world has been devastated by the Root, an interdimensional force whose tree-like creatures have pushed humanity toward extinction.

Playing as a survivor from the hidden Ward 13 bunker, players set out to find the Tower, a structure connected to the fight against the Root. The journey leads through dangerous regions, lost civilizations, and encounters with factions whose goals are not always clear.

Combat and exploration

The game combines third-person gunplay with melee combat, requiring careful movement, dodging, and tactical responses to enemy attacks. Its worlds are procedurally generated, changing the paths, threats, and discoveries encountered during exploration. Bosses present distinct challenges, while environmental details, survivor accounts, and ancient texts reveal more of the shattered setting.

Build your survivor

Resources found in the world can be used to craft and improve weapons, armor, and mods. Different weapon types, elemental effects, rings, and amulets allow players to shape a build around their preferred approach. Unlockable archetypes provide different starting traits and equipment, and hidden routes can contain further materials, secrets, and lore.

Play modes and multiplayer

Remnant: From the Ashes supports TV, Tabletop, and Handheld play. It can be played alone or with up to three players through local wireless or online multiplayer, where teamwork can help groups confront difficult enemies and bosses. The Nintendo Switch release launched on March 21, 2023, and is rated Mature 17+.
