Resident Evil 4 is an action-adventure survival shooter from Capcom, released for Nintendo Switch in 2019. It places government agent Leon S. Kennedy in a remote European village during a mission to find Ashley Graham, the kidnapped daughter of the U.S. president.

What begins as a rescue operation becomes a fight against the Ganados, aggressive villagers infected with the Las Plagas parasite. Leon investigates the Los Illuminados cult and its leader, Osmund Saddler, while confronting dangerous enemies and uncovering the group’s plans for Ashley.

Third-Person Survival Horror

The game uses an over-the-shoulder third-person camera, combining direct gunfights with survival horror pressure. Ammunition, healing supplies, grenades, and inventory space must be managed carefully as Leon explores hostile areas, searches for useful items, and solves environmental puzzles.

Combat and Upgrades

Enemies can be stunned and followed up with melee attacks, while explosive barrels and other surroundings can offer tactical advantages. A merchant system lets players buy weapons and upgrades, with an arsenal ranging from pistols to rocket launchers. Treasures can also be combined before sale for greater value.

Challenges Along the Way

Quick-time events add urgency to cinematic sequences, and boss encounters call for different strategies than ordinary battles. The adventure also features returning series character Ada Wong and the formidable Salazar, alongside the threats Leon faces throughout his investigation.
