Road 96 is an action-adventure journey set in Petria, an authoritarian country where teenagers travel toward a distant border in search of freedom. Each trip places players in the role of a hitchhiker facing uncertain routes, unfamiliar people, and difficult circumstances.

Its procedural structure changes the order of events and character encounters between playthroughs. Conversations and decisions can alter the direction of a journey, affect relationships, and contribute to different outcomes for both the travelers and Petria itself.

A changing road to the border

Travel through Petria on foot, by hitchhiking, or by taking rides when opportunities arise. Along the way, explore locations, uncover hidden areas, solve situation-based challenges, and meet characters whose stories reveal more about the country, its history, and President Tyrak's regime.

Choices and survival

Dialogue choices and event decisions shape progress through the adventure. Managing money, health, and energy is also central to reaching the border, requiring players to look for food, shelter, transportation, and useful resources while deciding when to spend or conserve them.

Different encounters, different outcomes

Road 96 presents key narrative moments and character meetings in varying sequences, creating distinct paths through its story. Certain encounters can provide abilities or perks that help overcome obstacles, while overall choices lead toward different endings.
