Shin Megami Tensei III NOCTURNE HD REMASTER is a role-playing game from Atlus, released for Nintendo Switch on October 29, 2020. This updated version revisits a dark adventure set in a Tokyo changed by the catastrophic event known as the Conception.

A high school student becomes the Demi-fiend after Tokyo is transformed into the demon-infested Vortex World. As competing factions pursue their own visions for rebuilding reality, the player’s decisions shape the journey and can lead to different endings.

The Vortex World

The story centers on creation, destruction, and individual will in a desolate post-apocalyptic setting. Alliances, betrayals, and moral choices accompany the Demi-fiend’s search for a path through a world whose future remains undecided.

Press Turn Battles

Combat is turn-based and built around the Press Turn system. Striking an opponent’s weakness can grant additional actions, while attacking an enemy resistance may lose turns. Encounters demand attention to elemental affinities, party abilities, buffs, debuffs, and preparation for difficult bosses.

Demons and Magatama

Demons can be negotiated with and recruited to fight alongside the Demi-fiend. Fusion allows demons to be combined into stronger allies while passing along useful abilities. The Demi-fiend can also use Magatama to gain different skills and resistances, supporting party strategies across exploration, puzzles, and battles.
