Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance is a role-playing adventure from SEGA for Nintendo Switch, released on June 14, 2024. It returns players to Da'at, an apocalyptic alternate Tokyo inhabited by demons, where an ordinary student merges with the mysterious Aogami and becomes the Nahobino.

The game includes the new Canon of Vengeance route alongside the Canon of Creation. This alternate story introduces new characters, quests, areas, boss encounters, and moral conflicts centered on revenge, sacrifice, justice, humanity, and the demonic realm.

A divided path through Da'at

As the Nahobino, players travel through ruined, open-ended regions of Da'at and uncover hidden routes, resources, Miman, and dangerous foes. Decisions made throughout the Canon of Vengeance shape the direction of its story and its consequences, while the conflict between angels and demons continues in a different form.

Press Turn combat

Battles use the series' strategic turn-based Press Turn system. Striking an enemy weakness can grant extra actions, making knowledge of resistances and elemental attacks important. The Nahobino's abilities can be developed through essences and Miracles to suit different opponents and party needs.

Recruit, negotiate, and fuse demons

Demons can be approached through negotiation and persuaded to join the party, though each has its own personality and demands. Recruited demons expand available tactics and fusion options. In the World of Shadows, demons may be fused into stronger allies that inherit skills, allowing players to build a party with offensive, elemental, and support capabilities.
