Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon reimagines the Shovel Knight universe as a fast-moving puzzle adventure. Shovel Knight is trapped inside the mysterious Pocket Dungeon, a shifting maze controlled by the Pocket Dungeon Master, and must fight through themed areas to uncover a route out.

The game combines pixel-art dungeon crawling with block-dropping puzzle pressure. Familiar characters from the series appear during the journey, while humorous exchanges and unexpected developments accompany the search for answers behind the dungeon’s strange design.

Grid-Based Puzzle Combat

Each run unfolds on a board filled with enemies, blocks, and useful items. Moving into an enemy begins an attack, but retaliation makes health, position, and timing important. Falling blocks continually change the board, encouraging careful planning as players clear threats, make chains, and avoid being boxed in.

Relics, Items, and Characters

Relics and inventory items can provide temporary advantages and significantly alter an approach to a run. Potions and health-restoring items offer valuable recovery, while special abilities give characters different ways to handle groups, direct damage, or movement. More than 10 playable characters can be unlocked, each with an individual ability and playstyle.

Challenges Below the Dungeon

Boss encounters test knowledge of the puzzle-combat systems, while challenges set by the Pocket Dungeon Master add further objectives. Progression unlocks additional characters, items, and areas between attempts, giving repeated descents new tactical possibilities.
