SnowRunner is a racing and simulation game centered on demanding off-road travel in remote wilderness regions. Released for Nintendo Switch on May 18, 2021, it places players behind the wheel of heavy-duty trucks and scout vehicles built to face unstable ground, deep snow, water, and difficult climbs.

Rather than following a traditional scripted story, progress comes through contracts and recovery efforts. Deliver supplies, retrieve stranded vehicles, repair infrastructure, and open routes that support isolated settlements while expanding a garage with additional vehicles and upgrades.

Terrain and Vehicle Handling

Mud, snow, ice, and water shape every journey. Terrain reacts to vehicle movement, so route planning, careful throttle control, and an understanding of each truck's handling are important. All-wheel drive, differential locks, and winches can help overcome obstacles that would otherwise stop a delivery.

Regions, Jobs, and Progression

Open maps set in regions including Michigan, Alaska, and Taymyr offer cargo hauling, infrastructure repair, vehicle recovery, and hidden objectives. Players can choose from heavy trucks and lighter scouts, then customize and improve their fleet for the conditions ahead.

Planning for the Wilderness

Preparation is central to SnowRunner's challenges. Scouting unfamiliar routes, fitting suitable tires, carrying fuel and repair supplies, and driving steadily can make difficult operations more manageable. The game also supports four-player cooperative play for sharing contracts and recoveries.

SnowRunner was developed and published by Focus Home Interactive. The Nintendo Switch release supports English and is available in the USA, Europe, and Asia regions.
