04 About Stranded Deep

Stranded Deep is an adventure game from Beam Team, released for Nintendo Switch on August 31, 2021. After a private jet crashes over the Pacific, a lone survivor awakens on a life raft surrounded by isolated islands and open water.

Survival depends on turning found materials into useful equipment, locating food and fresh water, and creating shelter. Rather than following a heavily scripted narrative, the experience is shaped by exploration, decisions, and the effort to endure long enough to find a way home.

Survival on the Pacific

Health, hunger, thirst, and sun exposure all require attention. Players gather materials from trees, plants, wrecks, and debris, then use them to make tools, weapons, shelters, storage, and other essential structures. Dangerous wildlife, including sharks, boars, and venomous snakes, adds further risk to each expedition.

Explore Islands and Depths

A procedurally generated world gives each playthrough a different arrangement of islands and opportunities. Travel across the sea by raft, investigate shipwrecks, dive among coral reefs, and search underwater areas for resources and secrets. Changing weather can also affect the challenge of life at sea and on shore.

Build, Adapt, Endure

Establishing a base provides a place to rest, store supplies, and craft needed items. Fishing and hunting can provide food, while farming plots and water stills help create more dependable sources of sustenance. Equipment wears down over time, making continued scavenging and preparation an important part of staying alive.
