Tactics Ogre: Reborn is a role-playing and simulation game from Square Enix, released for Nintendo Switch on November 11, 2022. This renewed version of the tactical RPG centers on war, shifting loyalties, and decisions with lasting consequences.

The story follows Denam Pavel as he becomes involved in the struggle for the Valerian Isles. The Walister, Galgastani, and Bakram are locked in conflict, while Denam and his companions must confront questions of justice, power, and allegiance.

A branching war story

Choices influence both the course of the conflict and the fates of individual characters. The narrative presents multiple paths and outcomes, allowing players to see how different decisions alter the larger struggle. The World Tarot system lets players return to important decision points and explore alternate routes through the story.

Grid-based tactical battles

Combat takes place on isometric battlefields where unit placement, elevation, party coordination, and battlefield conditions all matter. Players direct a group of characters with different classes, abilities, equipment, spells, and elemental strengths. Careful planning is important when facing enemy formations and varied battle objectives.

Party growth and tactical tools

Units gain experience, change classes, and learn skills and spells as the party develops. Equipment, items, and accessories can be used to shape each character's role. The Chariot Tarot system offers a way to reconsider actions during battle, while the Warren Report provides lore, character biographies, and information about the world.
