The World Ends with You: Final Remix is a role-playing game developed by Square Enix and published by Nintendo for Nintendo Switch. Released on October 12, 2018, it follows Neku Sakuraba after he wakes in Shibuya with no memory and learns he has been drawn into the deadly Reapers’ Game.

To earn a chance at returning to life, Neku and his partners must survive daily missions, solve cryptic objectives, and fight Noise. Their journey gradually exposes secrets surrounding Shibuya, the Reapers, and the contestants themselves.

A week in Shibuya

The story centers on Neku’s uneasy alliances, beginning with Shiki, as the participants face the threat of permanent erasure. Through friendships, betrayals, and revelations, the narrative explores trust, self-worth, individuality, and the value of forming connections with others.

Psychic pin combat

Battles use Psychs, abilities tied to collectible pins that provide different attacks and support effects. Choosing a pin deck and combining its strengths with a partner’s abilities are central to confronting the varied Noise enemies. Pins can also develop through use and particular actions.

Explore fashion and secrets

Players travel through a stylized version of Shibuya, speaking with NPCs, visiting shops, locating hidden details, and using scanning to reveal thoughts and concealed Noise. Fashion has a practical role as well: popular brands can grant advantages in their associated districts, while food permanently raises base statistics. Final Remix includes enhanced visuals and additional story content.
