04 About Torchlight II

Torchlight II is a role-playing game developed by Echtra Games and published by Perfect World for Nintendo Switch. Its campaign follows the aftermath of the original game, as the Alchemist becomes corrupted by the Heart of Ordrak and spreads destruction across the world.

Players choose a hero and set out to track the Alchemist through different continents, encountering hostile creatures, new factions, hidden areas, and major bosses along the way. The journey expands the setting's lore with familiar characters and new enemies.

Four playable classes

The Engineer, Outlander, Embermage, and Berserker each offer separate skill trees and combat approaches. Heroes can be shaped through skill choices, stat allocation, equipment, weapons, spells, and abilities, allowing players to develop a preferred style of fighting.

Loot-driven exploration

Adventure moves between expansive overworld areas and procedurally generated dungeons. Caverns, secret locations, treasure chests, and dangerous monster groups provide opportunities to find randomized gear, including unique items, set pieces, enchantments, and other equipment upgrades.

Pets and continued challenges

A pet accompanies the hero in battle, can carry extra loot, and may be sent back to town to sell unwanted items. Bosses and mini-bosses present stronger encounters with distinct attacks, while New Game Plus lets players revisit the campaign at a higher difficulty with improved loot opportunities.
