Touhou Luna Nights is a 2D action-exploration game for Nintendo Switch, released on December 17, 2020. Developed and published by Phoenixx, it follows Sakuya Izayoi through a pixel-art adventure built around combat, exploration, and progression.

Sakuya, the chief maid of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, is transported to a sealed world created by her mistress, Remilia Scarlet. With no clear route home, she encounters familiar Touhou characters while investigating the nature of this unusual realm.

Time-Based Action

Sakuya's ability to manipulate time is central to the game. Time stopping can be used during combat, to navigate obstacles, and to solve environmental challenges. Her moveset also includes projectile knives and close-range attacks.

Exploration and Growth

The game uses an interconnected map with hidden passages and areas that become accessible as Sakuya gains new abilities. Revisiting earlier locations can reveal secrets and upgrades for attributes such as health, magic, and knife capacity.

Boss Encounters and Presentation
