World War Z is an action game developed and published by Saber Interactive. Set during a worldwide zombie apocalypse, it follows separate groups of survivors as they fight through crisis zones in cities including New York, Jerusalem, Moscow, and Tokyo.

Each location presents its own self-contained struggle for survival, with objectives that demand movement, defense, and escape under pressure from relentless undead swarms. The game supports English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Russian, Chinese, and Portuguese.

Third-Person Horde Combat

Gameplay centers on third-person shooting against exceptionally large groups of zombies. Missions can involve securing positions, escorting survivors, or activating essential equipment while waves of enemies close in. Quick reactions matter, but careful positioning and resource use are equally important when a horde arrives.

Classes and Loadouts

Players can select survivor classes such as Gunslinger, Hellraiser, Slasher, and Medic, each offering distinct abilities and progression paths. A range of weapons, from pistols to heavy machine guns, can be upgraded and customized to suit different approaches to combat.

Defending the Team

Defensive tools play a major role during intense encounters. Barbed wire, automated turrets, and mortar placements can help control advancing zombies, while explosive environmental objects offer another way to clear tightly packed groups. Higher difficulty levels increase the challenge and rewards.

Competitive Encounters

Alongside cooperative missions for up to four players, World War Z includes Player vs Player vs Zombie modes. These matches add opposing players to the conflict while the zombie threat remains active.
