04 About WWE 2K Battlegrounds

WWE 2K Battlegrounds is an arcade-style wrestling game developed by Saber Interactive and published by Take-Two Interactive for Nintendo Switch. Released on September 18, 2020, it presents WWE action with exaggerated attacks, humorous energy, and fast-paced matches rather than a simulation-focused approach.

Players can select from WWE Superstars and Legends, use powerful moves, and take advantage of arena hazards during bouts. Its accessible controls support quick pick-up-and-play action while leaving room to experiment with different fighters and abilities.

Campaign journey

The Campaign Mode follows a search for new WWE talent for a new WWE brand, with Paul Heyman and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin guiding the journey. Matches take players through arenas around the world against a range of opponents and challenges. Progression unlocks additional Superstars, customization options, and special power-ups.

Wild wrestling action

Matches emphasize high-energy brawling through oversized moves, strategic power-ups, and interactive environments. Throwing opponents into hazards can add damage, while reversals and combinations of light and heavy attacks offer ways to counter and build momentum.

Modes and customization

Alongside Campaign, WWE 2K Battlegrounds includes Exhibition and Online modes. Created Superstars can be customized, and experimenting with the roster’s distinct abilities can help players find a preferred fighting style.
