Keita adventures alongside his established Yo-kai companions, while Natsume leads a Yo-kai Detective Agency in the future. Shin's tale is set in the past, where he faces powerful Yo-kai. The antagonist Soranaki links these eras and threatens both humanity and the Yo-kai world.

Real-time battles

Combat allows direct control of human characters and Yo-kai companions, with the ability to switch between them during encounters. Characters can combine their abilities in battle, while Yo-kai Souls collected from defeated foes can be used to strengthen abilities or create items.

Exploration and Yo-kai bonds

Players explore environments across multiple timelines, seeking quests, hidden Yo-kai, and secrets. The Yo-kai Watch assists with locating discoveries, while the Konkatsu system develops bonds with Yo-kai. Friendship levels influence combat performance and can unlock special events. Side quests and mini-games offer additional activities beyond the main story.
