Monster Menu: The Scavenger’s Cookbook is a role-playing strategy game from NIS America, released for Nintendo Switch in 2023. A group of adventurers awakens without memories inside a dangerous dungeon, where finding food is as important as surviving its monsters.

Exploration combines procedurally generated dungeon floors with tactical, turn-based encounters. Parties must gather ingredients and materials, manage hunger and stamina, prepare meals, and decide how best to use limited resources while searching for a route out.

Cook to Survive

Ingredients collected during dungeon expeditions can be turned into dishes that help sustain the party. Meals can provide stat boosts or prevent hunger-related penalties, making cooking an important part of planning for combat and deeper exploration. Characters also have individual strengths, weaknesses, and culinary preferences to consider.

Tactical Dungeon Battles

Combat emphasizes positioning, character abilities, environmental elements, and enemy elemental weaknesses. Careful use of each turn can reduce risk when facing regular foes, while tougher boss encounters demand stronger planning and resource management.

Crafting and Discovery

Monster parts and other recovered materials can be used to craft weapons and armor for increasingly difficult dungeon floors. Expeditions may uncover hidden routes, treasures, rare ingredients, and new areas, while the dungeon’s mysteries gradually reveal more about the party’s captivity.
